{Pc Users} Opera 39 Goes Beta with a Built-in VPN and Battery Saver

Opera has just been introducing new features in their browser like an every day must-do. It has not been that long when ad blocker feature was added.

Today, I will like to talk about two amazing features they just added: Battery Saver and Browser VPN.
Though the the VPN feature is not entirely new, iOS users have been rocking it lately.

 Battery Saver Feature

This is really beneficial. It does make your battery last longer by 50% when compared to other browsers such as Google Chrome.


This is achieved through these under-the-hood optimizations:


1.Waking CPU less often due to optimal scheduling of JavaScript timers.

2. Automatically pausing unused plug-ins.

3.Reducing activity in background tabs.

4. Reducing frame rate to 30 frames per second.

5. Pausing animations of browser themes.

6.Tuning video-playback parameters and forcing usage of hardware accelerated video codecs.

7. Including ad blocker – when enabled, it enables even more battery savings.

 How to Enable This Feature 

This feature is only available when the power cable is unplugged ( you don't expect it to be available when you the power cable is plugged in, do you?)

==> Once the power cable is unplugged, the battery icon will appear next to the address and search field.

==> Click on the icon, snap on the switch to activate.

  Browser VPN

Opera 39 beta features a new, built-in and unlimited VPN, right in your browser. In addition, they have added the options for people to choose whether to use it as a global setting for all tabs or simply when in private browsing mode.
